GT-811 — Two-Part Methacrylate Metal-Bonding Adhesive

GT-811 is a fast-curing, two-part methacrylate (MMA) structural adhesive engineered for high-strength bonding of metals, engineering plastics, and composites. It bonds most substrates — including aluminum, cold rolled steel, stainless steel, and magnesium alloy — without a primer (copper is the exception). With a 3–5 minute working time and roughly 18-minute fixture time, GT-811 is built for fast-paced production and repair environments where strong, permanent bonds are needed without mechanical fasteners.

Advantages

  • High-strength structural bonding — cohesive-failure bond strength on metals and composites
  • No primer required (except on copper), simplifying surface prep
  • Bonds dissimilar substrates — metals, engineering plastics, and composites in one adhesive
  • Fast working time of 3–5 minutes for efficient production throughput
  • Quick fixture time — approx. 18 minutes to handling strength
  • Tolerant of oily/lightly contaminated surfaces, reducing pre-cleaning burden
  • Wide operating temperature range: -40°C to 120°C after full cure
  • Permanent, durable bond with good impact and peel resistance

Application Details

  • Metals: Aluminum, cold rolled steel, magnesium alloy, stainless steel
  • Engineering Plastics: PC/ABS, ABS, acrylic resin, polycarbonate, PVC
  • Composite Materials: Epoxy, unsaturated polyester, vinyl ester, and polyurethane

Application Process

Clean and degrease the surface. Wipe metal substrates once with acetone, then once with alcohol; wipe plastic substrates twice with alcohol. Load the 490 mL cartridge into a 10:1 manual or pneumatic dispensing gun (Mixpac/NSJ-compatible) with an appropriate static mixing tube. Purge the mixing tube before use to ensure proper mix ratio at the nozzle. Apply the adhesive within the working time (3–5 minutes at 24°C). Clamp or hold the assembly until fixture time is reached (approx. 18 minutes at 24°C). Allow a full 24-hour cure at 24°C before putting the bond under full load.

Packaging Sizes

  • 490 mL side-by-side double cartridge, 10:1 mix ratio (A:B by volume)

Storage & Shelf Life

  • Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area, away from heat, sparks, and direct sunlight.
  • Recommended storage temperature: 8–25°C (approx. 12°C is ideal for extending shelf life).
  • Shelf life: 12 months from date of manufacture when stored correctly.
  • Do not store above 35°C — the hardener (Part B) decomposes rapidly above this temperature, degrading reactivity.
  • Keep container tightly closed when not in use.

Special Note & Safety

Contains methacrylate monomer and is flammable — keep away from sparks, open flame, and heat sources during use and storage. Potential skin/respiratory sensitizer and irritant (eyes, skin, inhalation, ingestion) — wear protective goggles and gloves; use with adequate ventilation. In case of skin contact, rinse thoroughly with soap and water; for eye contact, flush with clean water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention. Do not induce vomiting if swallowed — seek medical attention immediately. Store out of reach of children. Full handling, first-aid, and hazard details are provided in the GT-811 Part A and Part B Material Safety Data Sheets — link these as downloadable PDFs on the product page.
